Sean McNicholas is a private criminal defense attorney. His office is conveniently located right across the street from Queens County Criminal Court, in Kew Gardens, Queens. Sean passionately and zealously represents approximately 500 clients every year, accused of all different types of offenses, ranging from trespassing and driving without a license, to murder and sexual assaults. Most of his cases fall somewhere in the middle, namely drunk driving and domestic violence.
Sean grew up in Queens County. Son of Irish immigrants, Sean’s .rs. He grew up in a home devoted to love, faith, service, and most importantly education. Sean attended Saint Francis Prep. High School (Class of 1986) here in Queens County, and then attended Fordham University (Class of 1990). Upon graduating college, Sean worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for Jamaica Hospital, here in Queens County. He worked on the streets of South Queens, during some of the most tumultuous times is Queens History, serving the sick and injured. Sean worked his way through law school at Saint John’s University, School of Law, (Class of 1998) here in Queens County.
Upon graduating law school and beginning his legal career, Sean became a Queens County Assistant District Attorney. A very competitive and honorable profession, Sean was a prosecutor working in different divisions within the Queens County District Attorney’s Office, namely, Criminal Court, Supreme Court, Grand Jury, and Narcotics Investigations. Despite having a very respected job as a prosecutor for Queens County, Sean felt the calling to help people accused of committing crimes instead of prosecuting them. He left the Queens County District Attorney’s Office in 2002, after four years of service, and began his own criminal defense law firm, defending those accused of crimes predominately in Queens County.
Fast forward fifteen years, and Sean has represented thousands of people accused of crimes here in Queens County and all over the state of New York. He has built a large successful law practice, always treating client the way he would want his family treated if any of them were ever accused of a crime. He is effective and to the point, always passionate and considerate to his clients. He is an experienced negotiator and a winning trial attorney with over one hundred jury trials under his belt. Sean is married nearly twenty years to his wife Penny, from Flushing, Queens, who is a Physician Assistant. He has two teenage boys, and one teenage daughter. They live in Long Island, where he and his wife are trying hard every day to raise their children with the determination, respect and love that they were each raised with, here in Queens County years ago.
